A delicious, filling and nutritious porridge that will give you a surge of energy to start the day.

Oats are a good source of fibre and carbohydrates and are also high in soluble fibre beta-glucan which supports healthy gut bacteria. Not to mention it increases feelings of fullness – and when combined with Biotiful Kefir, which is packed with protein, you’re sure to feel fuller for longer!

Top with a ripe, sliced pear for one of your 5 a day, crushed walnut halves and a sprinkling of cinnamon for a subtle sweet-spicy flavour.

And did we mention? This recipe is naturally free from gluten, too.



For the porridge

  • 3 tbsp (25g) porridge oats
  • 100ml Biotiful Dairy Kefir (for a thicker porridge, use 50-80 ml of Kefir)

For the topping

  • 1 ripe pear, sliced with the skin on
  • 4-6 broken walnut halves (about 10g)
  • couple pinches of cinnamon


For the porridge

  • Pour 200ml water into a small pot and stir in porridge oats. Cook over a low heat until bubbling and thickened.
  • Turn off the heat once the porridge oats are cooked.
  • Stir in Biotiful Dairy Kefir – or swirl in half and top with the rest – once slightly cooled to avoid killing the live bacteria in the Kefir.

For the topping: 

  • Add pear and walnut halves to the finished porridge, then sprinkle on cinnamon.
