This means that cacao has a stronger, more bitter and sophisticated flavour profile compared to unsweetened cocoa. Which makes it perfect for this recipe where you can adjust the sweetness with the honey and maple syrup.
And if you’d like to give this dessert a touch of decorative garnish, flaked almonds, strawberries, chia seeds are great cacao nibs (which provide a crunchy, nut-like texture without nut allergens!) would all work well.
