Energy balls are great when you’re on the go or just fancy a snack

These Kefir & Cacao Energy Balls make a delicious power boost

Energy balls are a popular snack on the go and to re-fuel after gym workouts, but did you know it’s easy to make your own?

That’s right. All you have to do is get your ingredients, blitz in a blender and roll into balls. How easy is that?!

This recipe is for Kefir & Cacao Energy Balls, but a few simple ingredient swaps means you can customise these into all new flavour combinations! For example, swap the desiccated coconut for matcha powder to make a cacao and matcha ball. Or swap the almond butter for peanut butter and desiccated coconut for cacao nibs for a twist on peanut butter cups. The ideas are endless!

And if you want to take the cacao flavour in this recipe to the next level, simply swap the Kefir Original for Kefir Cacao.

Ingredients (Makes 10 balls):

  • 60ml Biotiful Kefir Original
  • 100g rolled oats
  • 150g dried dates (ideally soaked in water for an hour)
  • 80g ground almonds
  • 1 tbsp. almond butter
  • 2 tbsp. cacao power
  • 2 tbsp. chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • Desiccated coconut
  • Soak the dates in water for at least an hour.
  • Combine the oats, dates, almonds, almond butter, cacao power, chia seeds and Biotiful Kefir Original in a high powered blender and blitz until the mixture is thick and easy to mould. If it’s too dry, add more Kefir until you reach the right consistency.
  • Roll into individual balls, coating with desiccated coconut.
  • Refrigerate and eat within 1-2 days.
