Red and green coloured Christmas smoothie with Kefir

Perfect as a healthy treat

We all know how indulgent Christmas time can be, so if you’re struggling to eat enough fruits and vegetables or want to balance out the extra chocolates, try this dual coloured Christmas themed Kefir smoothie recipe.

Both Kefir and fruit naturally support digestive health with the fibre from the fruit and live cultures in the Kefir, helping to alleviate digestive distress. And these same ingredients also support immune health naturally with the Vitamin C in the fruit and Vitamin B12 in the Kefir.

This Christmas smoothie is layered, but it’s easier to make than it looks: it’s essentially two smoothie recipes poured into a glass, one of the other.

Ingredients

  • 250ml Biotiful Kefir Original
  • 1 medium banana, sliced and frozen
  • 1 cup of strawberries, fresh or frozen
  • 2 large handfuls of baby spinach
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • Garnish, optional: sprinkle of chia seeds and additional fruit

Green layer: Add the Kefir Original, ½ of the banana, spinach and optional honey to the pitcher of a high-powered blender. Blend on high until smooth, or until desired consistency is reached. Add ice as needed to reached desired thickness.

Red layer: Add the 1/2 of the banana and all of the strawberries into the pitcher of a high-powered blender. Blend on high until smooth, or until desired consistency is reached.

Gently spoon the red smoothie on top of the green layer. Garnish with chia seeds & additional fruit.
