Don’t be put off by the colour of this smoothie, it is so nutritious and tasty, the cacao and banana are definitely the dominant flavours here!


  • 250ml Kefir
  • 1 handful of baby spinach leaves
  • ½ banana (frozen chunks ideally)
  • Half a carrot
  • A chunk of cucumber
  • 1 tsp Spirulina
  • 1 tsp cacao powder and a handful of cacao nibs

Simply place all of the ingredients into a blender and whizz  until you obtain a smooth consistency. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Adding Spirulina really boosts the nutritional value of this smoothie. It’s a blue-green freshwater algae that is rich in protein and can help boost your immune system and regulate cholesterol and blood. Of course Kefir has plenty of health benefits on its own too.
