Chia seeds come from a flowering plant native to Mexico and Guatemala. They are very rich in omega-3 fatty acid, a healthy fat which can reduce the risk of strokes. While soaking, the seeds develop a gel-like coating that gives chia-based beverages a distinctive texture. Thus, if you are adding them to a smoothie, it’s best to drink it right away.

Ingredients

  • 250ml (1 cup) Bio-tiful Dairy’s Kefir
  • 1 cup packed baby spinach leaves
  • 1 ripe kiwi, peeled and cut into small pieces
  • ½ banana, cut into chucks (you can use frozen banana for a cooler drink)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds

Directions

  • Place all the ingredients in a blender. Blend until you obtain a smooth consistency
